TAP/BALLET COMBO CLASS
(Ages 3-4)
This fun and exciting class will introduce young dancers to the beginning steps of ballet and tap, while focusing on having fun; moving and developing performance skills. Dancers will work on fine motor skills, listening, and retention of choreography and technique.
JAZZ/BALLET COMBO CLASS
(Ages 5-7)
This class combines basic Ballet technique with upbeat music and also includes the technique and fundamentals of Jazz.
JAZZ
(Ages 8-18)
Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level, curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
TAP
(Ages 5-18)
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. As students progress through each level, curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
LYRICAL/TECHNIQUE
(Ages 8-18)
Lyrical/Technique combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on modern techniques (contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension) as well as musicality and self expression.
HIP HOP
(Ages 5-18)
Hip Hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore, class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.
TUMBLING
(Ages 5-18)
Learn the basics or work on advancing your skills! Tumbling isn’t your typical gymnastics class. Our experienced tumbling instructor will guide the class towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teach such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks, all based on each students individual level of experience. And it's fun too!
MUSICAL THEATER/ACTING
(Ages 9-18)
In this class, students will learn basic musical theater style movement, along with the basics of singing and acting. They will also participate in a mock audition and learn how to put together a musical theater resume. Perfect for anyone involved or interested in musical theater. No dance experience necessary to participate in this class.
BALLET/POINTE
(Ages 13-18)
This Ballet/Pointe class is designed to develop awareness of alignment and basic ballet vocabulary and technique. Class will include basic barre exercises, as well as center work. Our students get to experience what it’s like to not only dance in pointe shoes, but to gain confidence in their normal Ballet technique as well.
